Funk Star Anna Kendrick Says Singing Is A Stress!

Anna Kendrick has teased that she’s ‘so done singing’ after getting ‘sucked’ into a series of musical roles.
The Twilight star’s latest part is in musical The Last 5 Years, she will also play Cinderella in the anticipated Disney treatment of Stephen Sondheim’s Into The Woods and she recently finished shooting the sequel to Pitch Perfect 2.
She said: ‘After the last couple of years, I’m so done singing. ‘It’s so stressful and so much work. It’s like being an athlete. It’s something you have to maintain and think about.’ Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival, Anna said that although it wasn’t a part of the plan she keeps getting offered roles in musicals that she can’t turn down. ‘What kind of idiot is like, ‘Oooh, it is like a dream role, but I didn’t want to do any more musicals, so...’?’ she said. ‘I mostly feel really grateful that I keep getting sucked back in, even though it wasn’t part of the plan or anything. The opportunities have just been mind-boggling.’ The Last 5 Years is based on Jason Robert Brown’s off-Broadway musical about a young couple’s out of sync romantic life. Unlike most movie musicals, it is distinctly independent, and was shot quickly and simply in New York. ‘This is obviously a very intimate story, so it made sense to make it feel intimate,’ said Anna.’
